Prestige new-build real estate in Budapest
In Budapest, a luxury new development often takes the form of a revival: listed late 19th-century buildings, fully restored, now house prestige new apartments fitted with the latest technology. BARNES Hungary selects these exceptional developments at the finest addresses in Pest, for a main residence, a pied-à-terre or a long-term investment.
Andrássy 47, a listed landmark on Andrássy Avenue
In the heart of District VI, this neo-Renaissance eclectic building, protected as a national monument, has undergone a complete restoration. It comprises 13 luxury apartments with remarkable ceiling heights, including apartments with separate staff quarters on the 2nd and 3rd floors and 4 penthouses with roof terraces created in the new attic. The apartments come with premium furniture designed by interior architects, around a planted courtyard evoking the atmosphere of Liszt Ferenc Square.
Dorottya Residences, Art Nouveau by the Danube
In District V, near Vigadó Square, the Mahart House, an Art Nouveau gem, is home to 23 apartments from 59 to 225 sqm, with one to three bedrooms, across six floors. Views over the city, Gellért Hill or the monumental courtyard, ceiling cooling and heating, integrated smart home systems and bespoke fittings: the apartments are delivered partly furnished. The residence shares its block with the five-star Hotel Dorothea, whose services residents can enjoy on preferential terms.
Why buy in a new development
Buying in a prestige new development combines the character of a historic address with the comfort of a new home: energy performance, recent equipment, high-end specifications and no work to plan. A configuration sought by international buyers and investors alike, in a market where fine restored addresses remain rare.
