Picture What do mere flashes tell you ?

Adri Örkényi turns thirty-three four days before her exhibition opens. She wasn’t a photographer four years ago. She graduated in Humanities and Political Science, but she got a camera. And a panic disorder. One is gone, the other has resulted in this extraordinary exhibition in Deák Palota. Like in her previous works, dancers portray her deepest, most intimate processes. She takes nudes of the soul without any nudity in her photos. Orkenyiadri is on a journey. When she makes a stop, she has an exhibition so that others can also see where she is. She says the following about ‘Flashes’:

“I have learnt to hide behind the photographer: sunglasses, hair, a hoodie, an attitude…

The array of tools ready for deployment. I am constantly hiding in a world full of predators.

Survival – check.

But from time to time, flashes of ‘the woman’ appear. Sensitive, fragile, delicate, tender,

beautiful.

For him, any time.

Complicated, yet simple.”

We look forward to welcoming you to the opening on 22th of January 2020 (Wednesday) at 6 p.m. in Deak Palace. The event is free, but a request of attendance must be sent to orkenyiadri@gmail.com along with the number of participants. The exhibition can be visited between 22 January and 20 February 2020 in Deak Palace (1052 Budapest, Deák Ferenc street 15.).
